LPN Duties And Responsibilities
Patient Care
Provide quality basic nursing care to patients in a healthcare setting. Assist patients with daily living activities like hygiene, changing dressings, inserting catheters, and related tasks. Administer medications, update patient charts, and assist RN’s, as needed.
Communication and Collaboration
Communicate effectively with others within the organization like RN’s, doctors, and other staff. Work closely with patients while maintaining a positive bedside manner. Be comfortable working closely with patients and providing basic nursing care.
Be able to provide critical feedback and receive feedback from others. Collaborate with other healthcare workers and staff, providing excellent basic nursing services to patients.
Patient Assistance
Assisting patients with essential daily living activities like feeding, personal hygiene, and toileting. Taking and monitoring vital signs like temperature and blood pressure. Collect samples for diagnostic testing. Prepare patients for exams, tests, and procedures.
Patient Support
Providing physical and emotional support to patients, as needed. Educate patients and family about home care. Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms and exam areas. Ensuring the healthcare environment is safe and comfortable for patients.
Reporting
Observe and document patient behavior. Follow safety procedures and practices to ensure quality care. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of care.
